I'm not usually one for trends, but when it comes to turmeric, I'm leading the bandwagon.

The recipe for this golden elixir has pride of place on the fridge of my family home, it's tattered edges testament to both its powers and deliciousness.
Simply blend with a banana and some ice in summer, or heat up for a warming winter tonic, and you too can be a glowing, golden beam of turmericy-lightness.

1 cup coconut milk
2 dessertspoons fresh turmeric (chopped)
1 teaspoon fresh ginger (chopped)
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon ground turmeric
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Blend all ingredients for 2 minutes at medium speed.
Transfer mixture to a saucepan and add:
2 cups almond milk
Honey to taste.
Bring to a simmer then let steep for 10 minutes.
Strain, reheat, and enjoy.
